Abstract

It is necessary to think about  transformations in the concept of time from modernity and postmodernity to recent global crises, particularly the pandemic. It analyzes how these temporal frameworks have shaped our experience of the present and our relationship with nature. From a critical perspective, it challenges the notion of time as linear and controllable, instead proposing a view that acknowledges the rupture between human and natural temporality. The text emphasizes the need to adopt a critical memory of the past to envision possible futures from a planetary and collective perspective. It stresses the urgency of building common models of existence that recognize the interdependence between species, and of fostering a politics rooted in the everyday and the shared, beyond elite decision-making. Finally, it argues that history and the social sciences must take an active role in reconstructing a shared horizon, incorporating nature as a political subject and a fundamental part of the human narrative.
