"Crisis in the social and human sciences"
The publication of issue 50 of Sarance magazine provides an opportunity for the Instituto Otavaleño de Antropología to initiate a collective reflection and transdisciplinary discussion on the practice, development, and function of the social and human sciences in contemporary societies.
In a context of widespread distrust due to the apparent lack of individual and collective certainties, the fading of grand narratives that have structured Western societies, and the all-encompassing threat of the effects of climate change on the survival of life, can the social and human sciences help us think and construct alternative futures for humanity and ecosystems?
