Abstract

The article "Forced Contributions in Otavalo During Times of Revolution" by Hernán Jaramillo Cisneros examines the impact of forced contributions in the Otavalo region during periods of political and social upheaval. Through a detailed historical analysis, Jaramillo Cisneros reveals how these imposed contributions affected local economic and social structures, as well as how indigenous communities responded to these pressures. The study offers a critical perspective on the dynamics of power and resistance in contexts of radical change, providing a deeper understanding of the consequences of coercive policies in the Andean region.
