Abstract

The poem narrates the emotional return of a man to Otavalo after a long absence. He recalls with nostalgia and affection the landscapes, traditions and people of the region, highlighting places such as San Pablo, Imbabura and Mojanda. His return is a mix of emotions, remembering the festivities, the Sanjuanes dances and the rich local culture. The author presents himself as a traveler who has traveled to many places and, upon returning, feels reconnected with his roots and the essence of Otavalo. References to cultural and natural elements such as capulí, elderberry, chuquiraguas, and traditional clothing underline his deep love for the land and its customs. The poem concludes with a reflection on the importance of remembering and feeling the identity of Otavalo, beyond formal speeches and historical figures.
