Abstract

The Otavalo Institute of Anthropology prepared a Map of Handicrafts of the Province of Imbabura with the aim of identifying the handicrafts produced in this province, determining their locations, and, above all, establishing a methodology and symbology that would enable the creation—at the national level and by an official entity—of a Map of the Handicrafts of Ecuador. This latter objective has not yet been achieved, but we hope it will become a reality in the near future.
