Abstract

Where was Jacinto Collahuaso born? Is this information questionable?

In Otavalo, it has been known for three centuries that the indigenous cacique Jacinto Collahuaso was born in this location around the year 1660, when Otavalo held the designation of Asiento (settlement) and served as the administrative capital (cabecera) of the Corregimiento (district) of the same name.
