Abstract

This article presents a panoramic synthesis of prehistoric cultural manifestations in the Eastern Plata basin, located in the lowlands of South America. Information on material culture is presented in tables and maps, facilitating the understanding of its spatial distribution and subsistence strategies. Climatic and topographic variations that influenced human adaptation are addressed, distinguishing four key environmental zones: the Atlantic coastal plain, the plateau, the savannas and low steppes, and the Paraná riverine plain. These zones have been crucial to understanding the dynamics of settlement and cultural development in the region during prehistory.
