Abstract

This commemorative article evokes the city of Ibarra in its fourth centenary, highlighting its history, monuments and landscapes that reflect its essence. Through a detailed tour, its streets, squares and emblematic buildings are described, such as the cathedral and Moncayo Park, as well as the corners that hold legends and traditions. The reconstruction after the 1868 earthquake and the identity of Ibarra, characterized by love of the landscape and authenticity of life, are highlighted. The text also pays tribute to Ibarra's vocation as a city of transit and permanence, a place that, since its foundation, has known how to overcome adversity and preserve its cultural and natural splendor.
