Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to develop the necessary elements and procedures to use adequately the case study method in scientific investigation with disregard of the knowledge area.. Specifically, the aim is to demonstrate the key characteristics such as the logical consistency of the method, the benefit and the practical utility about learning business management processes and marketing by UMET students, and the way it has overcome the popular debate about the accomplishment of scientific reliability and validity requirements associated to quantitative methods. . It is about the experience in the integration of the research project of the Business Management career, where it is evident that case studies improved the student skills and abilities on a particular subject, and on integrating products, which gather the required quality, apart from practical learning, social practice and the transformations that are occurring in Ecuadorian society right now.
