Abstract
Science Fiction focuses on scientific and technological speculation, the multiverse, and society. This article analyzes two paradigmatic works of the genre: "I Robot" by Isaac Asimov and "Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Philip K. Dick. Both original texts and their film adaptations are reviewed in order to verify the impact of these works on the scientific development of AI. On the one hand, Asimov's laws of robotics are inserted into contemporary debates on the ethical and legal regulations of AIs; while Dick's ideas of the cyborg/replicant are embedded in current discussions on posthumanism and sustainability.
