Abstract
This research examines the oral memory of Don César and the written memory of Don Mesías, focusing on a significant milestone: the creation of the town’s music band. Through their narratives, the study uncovers interconnected elements such as stories, photographs, characters, stories, forgetfulness, fictions, and frictions, which reveal the fragility of memory and the omissions shaped by complex socio-historical relationships. Among the most notable findings is the invisibilization of Doña Regina, a woman erased from both historical accounts and official records. This analysis highlights how socio-historical dynamics determine which bodies and narratives are made public and which are hidden.
